 Protecto CMU100 Water Resistant Coating

Protecto Wrap Introduces Water Resistant Liquid Membrane for Masonry

Denver, CO --- Protecto Wrap Company, manufacturer of premier waterproofing and energy saving building products, has introduced Protecto CMU 100, a water resistant coating for application to concrete and masonry.

Protecto CMU100 Water Resistant Coating is an alternative material to sheet membrane products.  Protecto CMU100 is an advanced hybrid acrylic polymer blended coating that is specifically designed for the demanding requirements of weather and water resistant coatings.  Besides its strong moisture resistant properties, Protecto CMU100 provides a flexible and breathable membrane coating.

Protecto CMU100 is approved as a water resistant membrane coating for all types of above and below grade concrete, masonry block, pre-cast and poured foundation walls, window and door openings, OSB, plywood and vertical or horizontal substrates.  This new liquid membrane product has already seen success in applications for residential and commercial construction.

Protecto CMU100 may be applied with a brush, roller or airless sprayer without dilution.  No primer is required and a one coat 30 mil wet application is all that is necessary.  Coverage is approximately 60 square feet per gallon depending on the porosity of the substrate and climate conditions.

Protecto CMU100 Water Resistant Coating can be applied directly to block walls after the mortar joints have taken their initial set.  CMU100 Water resistant Coating can be applied to poured concrete walls after the forms have been removed.

Protecto CMU100 Water Resistant Coating helps keep moisture from entering the structure’s foundation and reduces potential mold growth.  Protecto CMU100 Water Resistant Coating can be applied directly to damp walls or directly over high PH substrates.  This odorless liquid membrane dries tan and can be painted any color.

New High Performance Roofing Underlayment with 18 Month Exposure Now Offered by Protecto Wrap

Unprecedented Exposure Time Coming To The Aid of

Builders and Contractors in the Hurricane-Ravaged Gulf Coast

Denver — Protecto Wrap Company, a leading manufacturer of waterproofing membranes, has just launched a new high performance roofing underlayment that is coming to the rescue of many homes and businesses in the Southern United States that have been devastated by the recent surge of hurricanes.

In addition to being a lightweight, rubberized asphalt sheet waterproofing underlayment that is ideal for a number of applications, Rainproof 60 Plus boasts a major advantage in its unheralded exposure time.  While other roofing underlayments in the market offer a 60 to 90 day UV exposure time before the roof has to be covered, Rainproof 60 Plus affords roofers and building professionals up to 18 months exposure before a roof must be put down.  And nowhere is that being put to better use than in the Gulf States.

As homeowners and businesses scramble to rebuild and fix repairs to their wind-torn roofs, they are facing a shortage of traditional concrete tiles to do the work.  Builders are finding that concrete manufacturers are backlogged due to the catastrophic events that have unfolded, and that the standard lead-time for materials is roughly five months.

Protecto Wrap is happy to offer their Rainproof 60 Plus as solution to the “sea of blue tarps” that is dotting the landscape, according to John Hopkins, President and Owner of Protecto Wrap.  With Rainproof 60 Plus, roofs can be properly and professionally covered to bring damage under control and to eliminate any potential threats down the road—for up to 18 months!

“It’s a roof in and of itself,” says John Hopkins, “and offers peace of mind to contractors who now don’t have to worry about finishing the roof by a certain time.” In Florida, certain builders have been given rolls of Rainproof 60 Plus to try out and not surprisingly; Rainproof 60 Plus is being positively embraced.  Unlike other roofing underlayments comprised of glass mats that are susceptible to breaking down, Rainproof 60 Plus is internally reinforced with a strong, non-woven polyester fabric.  Protecto Wrap has also manufactured the product with twice as much resin as Rainproof 60 Plus’s competition for increased tensile strength.

The top of Rainproof 60 Plus consists of a white reflective fabric for added footing safety, making it a very walkable underlayment.  This surface also helps reduce heat on the roof deck and provides long-term UV protection.  The bottom of the sheet has a removable release film for ease of application.  Installation of the high performance roofing underlayment can be carried out on any exterior grade solid sheathing normally used for roof decking from 2" to 12" roof pitches.

Building professionals will also like the fact that Rainproof 60 Plus can be installed with spray foam instead of nails or fasteners to hold the roof tiles in place.  In fact, it is one of only two roofing underlayments approved by leading spray foam manufacturers for roofing installations.  Rainproof 60 Plus meets Miami-Metro Dade County Building Code approval (the strictest wind code in the nation) and has the highest wind uplift results as tested by their Product Control Division.  Featuring a “zip-strip” technology, Rainproof 60 Plus is also self sealing around the fasteners and is fully self adhering to the roof deck.  Another benefit to Rainproof 60 Plus is that professionals can re-roof right over the existing Rainproof product without having to remove the original layer of underlayment.  To cover existing Rainproof, the surface must be primed with Protecto Wrap’s #100 Primer prior to installing the new layer of Rainproof 60 Plus.

Rainproof 60 Plus meets and exceeds all ICC codes and is available nationwide in three different roll sizes: 30" x 50'; 36" x 50'; and 60" x 50'. Rainproof 60 Plus comes with a 10-year material guarantee.
