Discover how a variety of products are made: from the manufacturer’s values to the resources required to produce these products, their cost implications and their long-term effects on the building and the health of the inhabitants. Understand the practical application of key “green” product directories and how these can help you achieve ‘green home’ standards. Learn design considerations to balance cost and environmental benefit in case studies of “green homes.” Participants will study green product and technology availability in terms of salvaged, recycled or waste content, conservation of natural resources, avoiding emissions, saving energy or water, and contribution to safety and health.
